From the town of Mobile,AL up and coming artist "ErkDog" uses his name to describe his experiences growing up. From the street fights, robberies, and shootings, Erkdog uses his music to portray his experiences. He gives credit to his brothers for influencing his style as they would freestyle for hours. From an early age, ErkDog grew up in Maysville however at a young age he moved to the westend of the city where he met many of the people he attributes his success to. As he grew older, he started to become the troublemaker he describes on his tracks, as he took an interest in guns and brought drugs to school. At 17, he was kicked out of his house and had an apartment in which he used as a business opportunity to sell drugs from, bring women over, and add to his collection of firearms. As time went on, he knew this was not a good way to support himself so he knew he needed to make a change. Once the realities of life hit, ErkDog used music to educate the future younger generation of the consequences of choices he had made in order to prevent them from doing the same. His album "Who Gone Stop Me" was his breakout moment as he tried to make something out of himself. That album was a reflection of events and moments within his past in which he should have been incarcerated for. One of his tracks, "Second chances" describes how through social media, he would give off the impression of happiness and success in life, however he used that to mask his true hunger and anger.
