Hip Hop allowed him to create and express everything he was experiencing and everything he loved in the windy city of Chicago. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s Vic's influences derived from 70’s Soul music, 80’s Rock and Pop music, mixed with the Golden Era of Hip Hop. Iconic artists and groups such as Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, KRS-1, Nas, Wu Tang and A Tribe Called Quest were the background sound to his early childhood. Vic Monroe has appeared on SiriusXM's Shade45 on the prestigious Rap is Outta Control show with DJ Eclipse and DJ Riz, which was a key achievement for his musical career. Vic's music has also received spins by the legendary DJ Premier (Gang Starr) on his Live From HeadQCourterz show. Monroe has also collaborated with some notable emcees like Craig G (Juice Crew), Ed O.G, Ruste Juxx (Duck Down/Boot Camp Clik) and many more.
