Cheryl “CherryRaps” Doyle, is an American songwriter and recording artist from Chicago, IL. Just in her breakout year, 2021, she was able to rack up over 100k streams on Spotify alone, and over 250k streams across all major digital streaming platforms with her hard-hitting singles and 7-track EP “The Tip Out”. Growing up in the LeClaire Courts housing project, writing and music was a talent she discovered by the age of 9. At just 14, she worked as an actress and playwright, later bridging the gap to produce indie films in the Midwest. On her 16th birthday, she released “OnHerRoll”, under the alias Shay D. In November 2020, CherryRaps started writing again as a way to face and escape her anxiety and bipolar depression by drawing inspiration from powerhouse, unapologetic women such as Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil' Kim, Eve and Cardi B. As a former exotic dancer, and remembering it being one of the more empowering times in her life, she became motivated by high energy, uptempo club music. CherryRaps took a leap of faith and released her first single. Through digital streaming services and live shows, she’s built a strong community of fans. Currently, she is receiving internet and mainstream radio airplay for “Clout” and “U Nasty”. She was able to earn soundtrack placement, and gain mainstream radio and notoriety as an unsigned artist.
