Solveig Sørbø is an autodidact indie composer, music producer and musician who makes chamber music, film scores, musical drama and alternative fusion. She has played concerts in Norway, Germany and Italy, presented her works at an EEA conference in Slovakia, her music has been featured in audiovisual productions and she scored the documentary film “Hans pluss Liv” (NRK, 2021) which lead to a collaboration with Catharina Chen, Audun Sandvik and Petter Richter, encouraged by Arve Tellefsen. She is interested in mixing symphonic sections with electroacoustics and synthesized sounds, employing various tonalities and incorporating improvised elements and sonifications. She has a strong commitment to traditional elements including melody and harmony and also uses instruments from around the world such as santoor and kanun in her music. Solveig Sørbø is also the mastermind behind eclectic indie fusion band Pysj, and plays in the band Naturhistorisk with Bjorn Charles Dreyer and Saleh Mahfoud. Currently Solveig is writing the opera Heroin Chic together with distinguished author and librettist Maria Kjos Fonn.
