Musician, musical producer and sound engineer born in Belem do Para. Leo Chermont's main objective is to experiment and fuse modern music with Amazonian traditional music. Founder of Casarão Floresta Sonora, one of the biggest culture venues in northern Brazil, he has performed in several music festivals in Brazil and abroad (Rec Beat, Abril pro Rock, Conexão Vivo, FMI, Se Rasgum, MDA, Yoko Ono’s exhibit, Brazil Summer Fest, Virada Cultural, among others). As a musical producer, he recorded important albums for the maturation of northern Brazil's music such as Metaleiras da Amazônia, Mestre Damasceno, Pedro Vianna, Mestre Chico Malta, Natalia Mattos, Camila Honda, Nazaré Pereira and Guitarrada das Manas. As a sound engineer, he made documentaries about artists such as Mestre Vieira, Chico Braga, Mestre Damasceno and Os Pássaros juninos, Gaby Amarantos' DVD - Live at Jurunas, and live performances from artists such as Dona Onete, Mestre Laurentino and Aíla Magalhães. Today, Leo Chermont is part of nationally renowned singer Marina Lima's band and the experimental pop duo Strobo.
