Born and raised in the southern side of Johannesburg, and is originally from Estcourt, a small town in the uThukela District of the KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. “My name is Mfihlakalo Siphesihle Mbanjwa, staged named as ‘LaTique’ (Mr Rare Dub)”, A young versatile music producer, who specializes in different types of house music and believes his music is authentic and can bring a change in the South African music scene”.LaTique discovered his music ambitions and skills back in 2012, where his brother “Sandile Mbanjwa” known as “Cilongo” had a huge influence in having him into engaging with music as a whole. It all started as a keyboard player at church, “I use to love playing around with keys, and I would stand besides my brother the entire time, just so I can see and catch a few skills, especially the basics” says LaTique. As the years went by, LaTique began to have interest in music production, where he would spend hours and hours sitting beside his brother while he had his music production sessions. In 2013 LaTique began with music production, “I then got myself a Pentium 4 pc, and the only thing I couldn’t wait to get was “Fruit Loops Studio”, which is a production software I still prefer even ngoku!(even Today)”, says LaTique. It is 2023 and it is mind blowing to see how the youngster has grown so much in the music industry and has traveled so many parts of Africa, all because of his talent and art in music, parts like Swaziland, Mozambique, Botswana
