Thanyani Makhado, known by his stage name Mac Tee, was born on February 6, 2002, in the village of Tshimbupfe, Dindela, where music was a significant part of his cultural upbringing. Although he had natural musical talent, Mac Tee’s official journey into music began in 2015, when peer influence pushed him to explore various genres. Initially drawn to rap, it wasn’t until the age of 19 that he found his true passion in R&B, inspired by artists like Tory Lanez, Jacquees, Mac J Macfam and Ty Dolla Sign. Mac Tee's breakthrough came in 2020 with his rap EP *Bounce Back Mac*, which earned him local recognition. This success prompted him to embrace his R&B roots, leading to the release of his first R&B mixtape, *When It’s Dark and Cold* (2021), followed by *Intention* (2022), which he considers his best work. In 2023, he released *Sad Peace Love*, a collaboration with Smethieog Kibosh, and *Heartbreak Hotel*, a deeply personal project dealing with heartbreak. In 2023, Mac Tee also worked with producer Bee M Beatz on a new EP, expanding his sound to include elements of rap, trap, and afro beats while maintaining his R&B foundation. His versatility and ability to blend genres set him apart in the industry. Looking ahead, Mac Tee is focused on continuing his growth as an artist, pushing creative boundaries while staying grounded in his roots. His upcoming mixtape, *Taken Care*, is highly anticipated.
