After graduating from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of jazz w/honours in composition and arranging, Michael left Australia to move to Norway. He has since established himself as one of western Norways most in demand woodwind specialists. He is also a highly sought after arranger and composer for a large array of varied ensembles both in Australia and Norway. Michael is the lead alto and musical director of Bergen Big Band. In 2022 Michael was awarded Norwegian Jazz associations national big band prize.
