Biography

Ross Garren is a pianist, harmonicist, and composer currently residing in Los Angeles, California. He received his B.M. from the University of Southern California where he was named Outstanding Graduate in Composition. He is a member of the duos Garren & Cohan and the Sheriffs of Schroedingham, as well leading his own solo project, Taggart. An active freelance musician, he has been named a Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Fellow, won three ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Awards, arranged for BB King, Haim, and Lyle Workman, and has performed on countless recordings with artists such as Kesha, Ben Folds, Lupe Fiasco, Jim Keltner, Benmont Tench, and for composers Marco Beltrami, Alf Clausen, Mark Mancina, Bear McCreary, Kathryn Bostic and Austin Wintory. As an educator, he has served on faculty at the Musician's Institute and as an expert guide on David Barrett's Bluesharmonica.com. Ross's recent film score work include contributions to CMT's TV series Sun Records, and Netflix's series' Love and Crashing. Ross is a proud endorser of Seydel Harmonicas, Brendan Power Harmonicas, the Lone Wolf Blues Company effects pedals, and Xkey midi controllers.
