Texas native “real rapper” Makk is an independent rising rapper from Fort Worth. Gaining her audience on TikTok with viral videos, dropping one song a week, and collaboration with Coke Studio Live in 2022. Makk emphasizes truth, making music for “dreamers and over thinkers”. Keeping an old school vibe with boom bap beats, listeners often mistake her for being an east coast based artist. However, Makk takes pride in a new Texas sound saying “Texas has it’s own sound but there are so many talented artists with different flows and styles”. From an early age she was introduced to 2Pac, her main inspiration for spreading truth and knowledge through music. Paying tribute with “Makkaveli” an alternate name she dubbed herself in 2023. Makk gains inspiration from J. Cole, Joey Bada$$, and Russ. Only dropping singles, she says she will drop an album when she’s grown her fanbase to the next level but for now her singles are “one song albums”.
