RIP Calm

Biography

Since celebrating the release of his brother from Palm Beach County Detention Center and releasing the breakout anthem "CONTROLLERS" amassing over 30,000 plays along with a cosign from Adam22, Calm, the Futurist has not looked back, and honestly why would he? He is (of course) the futurist. The braggadocios lyricist began his career under the moniker Calm the Rapper. "Off-beat," "too loud," and "too positive" became a mantra scarred into his skin. At 16, "Calm the Rapper" was already written off. Dead. Cited in the obituary. Then, one year later Calm, the Futurist was born alongside with his debut song "Konami Code." With a clever concept lamenting over an ex girlfriend utilizing gamer terms and an infectious chorus, Calm, the Futurist shocked and captivated the underground hip hop world that had abandoned the artist before. Almost two years later the rapper now boasts over 100,000 plays on SoundCloud alone with breakout hits like "DIOR" and "JUNGLE" and a new, mature sound boasting of riches and late-night escapades gone right with the wrong girls. Louisiana’s renowned DJ Jabber Jawz introduced the rapper as "the future of hip-hop music." And his future is bright with his style primed for another upgrade teaming up with hitmakers like Mini Fresh and Robb2b.
