Biography

E-Roc Young nephew of the late great producer/ song writer Bobby Day,who recorded three songs that are seen today as rock and roll classics.Day's best known songwriting efforts were "Over and Over" made popular by the Dave Clark Five in 1965 and "Little Bitty Pretty One" popularized by Thurston Harris in 1957, Clyde McPhatter in 1962 and the Jackson Five in 1972. and his 1958 solo recording of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, "Rockin' Robin". E-Roc Young was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles California. Growing up in a neighborhood where gang bangin was a part of life, he had to learn how to maneuver on the streets of his community. He experienced what most black young men experience in the hoods throughout the inner cities of America; incarceration, gangs, crime, etc. But what E-Roc also had were two parents who adored him, and a deep love of and talent for Music. Having his parents teach him the importance of giving back to his community, E-Roc also grew up being very active in contributing positively to his neighborhood, He has volunteered to feed and care for the homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics on downtown L.A. Skid Row. His charitable spirit continued into his adulthood where he has worked and volunteered at Unity Three Community Center in South Central L.A., where he gave talks of encouragement and support to encourage youth in his community from participation in gangs, drugs and criminal behavior.
