Michael Chisanga Chibomba, known by his stage name Mikha’el, is a multifaceted Zambian artist renowned for his versatility as a singer, songwriter, record producer, and sound designer. Born on May 27, 1992, Mikha’el has made significant contributions to the Zambian music scene, blending traditional Kalindula music with contemporary genres such as Afrobeat, Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B. In 2019, Mikha'el made waves with his debut studio album 'Close Your Eyes & See,' a captivating nine-track Kalindula masterpiece that showcased his unique musical fusion. Following the success of his debut, Mikha'el continued to captivate audiences with his sophomore album '28 Pills,' released in 2020. This album, supported by hit singles "Shadow" and "Ilomba," propelled Mikha'el to local recognition and garnered him performances throughout the country. A visionary artist, Mikha'el spearheaded the Kalindula movement known as ‘Kali Boyz,’ with the aim of reviving and evolving native Zambian genres such as ZamRock, Kalifunku, Zambezi music, and Kalindula. In addition to his full-length albums, Mikha'el showcased his creativity and innovation with the release of two EPs: 'Blue Chair' and 'Kali Boyz' at the end of 2021, further solidifying his reputation as a trailblazer in the Zambian music industry.
