Snatch is a result of different projects. It all began in the mid 90's when bassist lyricist Gilmar Lindner, guitarist Valdemir Torcato and drummer Frank Walton founded an experimental rock band called The Love Bugs, later, when Shawn Deratany (ex- Headstone) answered an ad for vocalist on RAG Magazine,The Love Bugs, now with new drummer Pupi, evolved a notch, this caused a big change in the sound because now they had a vocalist, and a damn good one. They decided to change the name of the band. They agreed to name the band after the first collaboration between Gilmar and Shawn, Uncivilized. Pupi left and in came Charlie Mazella (Ex- Psychocharger). One beautiful hot Miami day, Shawn's good old friend and guitarist Gilbert Oliva came in for a jam and decided to join the band. The result was a different, more explosive sound, so, the only way to go now was to find a new name. After many days of deliberation they all settle for Snatch. Snatch went on to perform in several venues in South Florida, Gilmar and Shawn wrote many more songs together, their lyrics ranged from superficial themes evolving to subjects such as suicide, addiction, NDE. Thankfully, some of these songs were recorded before doom did it's job. In the mid 2000's Gilmar moved out of town and Torcato moved out of state, Shawn and Gilbert went on to new projects.
