When I was a young girl in Detroit singing, playing piano and writing poetry, I loved a kick out the jams high-spirited rhythm guitar. I have new music out with my husband/guitarist Scott Dailey recorded at Inner Door Music, Detroit, Pearl Sound Studio, Canton, Michigan and mastered by Third Man Records Cass Corridor Detroit. My music's described as “from the silver edge of midnight” (All-Music Guide) from early punk days to melodic rock and roll with a touch of cabaret, folk and soul. Playing shows in Detroit, Michigan, Canada, Italy, London and Japan, I've won music awards, but the real thrill is creating & connecting. I've toured with poet/rock icon Patti Smith and played with Don Was, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Slits, Ramones, Iggy Pop, Yoko Ono, Steve Earle, Tori Amos, Sinead O'Connor. I was also a DJ at the groundbreaking "Radios in Motion" on NPR/WDET w/Mike Halloran. My poetry book "Detroit (Maiden Energy)" had really cool reviews and I'm also featured in the national book “Hit Girls : Women in Punk." My former band, the avant jazz/rock Detroit Energy Asylum, has a new retrospective on Orchide Records. I love playing my piano and guitar with a Detroit whip smart energy.
