Biography

Jay Prezi was born and raised in the Harlem, New York. His parents met through touring as backup singers for Prezi’s uncle, Roy Ayers. Prezi utilizes his musical background in all his work and understands music theory for all genres. Prezi also realized that he also possessed great athletic ability and played basketball at the same school that Cam’ron and Mase played for. At an early age he started making a name for himself throwing classic Harlem parties, most notably cookouts and block parties, making him famous throughout his neighborhood. He became a legend among his community and worked with other Harlem creatives, such as A$AP Ferg, to form a collective known as Harlem Envy.
After turning 18, Prezi decided he wanted to experience life outside of Harlem and moved across the country by himself, spending time in Houston, Salt Lake City, Utah, and California. Prezi incorporates the unique experiences he gained from his traveling into his projects.
In 2013 Prezi dropped his first mixtape, Living Legend, under the name Jay Pres. Since then, he has honed his skills and developed his artistry, paving the way for his new classic sound, as seen on his latest project, John John: MCLXXV. On John John: MCLXXV, Prezi takes you to his block of 117th and 5th, where he is affectionally called “John John”, and lets his fans feel the real Harlem experience.
