Biography

A Baz Lurhman-directed fever dream of an alternative pop band, south London’s Balcony are here to do nothing less than dazzle with their colourful, catchy sound and mesmerising live show. The four-piece have already won over huge crowds thanks to the runaway success of their support slot on Lewis Capaldi’s most recent UK tour, which saw them playing a sold out Brixton Academy, followed by support slots with Tones and I. Balcony have succeeded in selling out their headline shows at Camden Assembly and Sebright Arms. Now the band’s eyes are set firmly on chart domination, thanks to their timeless songwriting, which weaves together futurewave R&B, dark electronica and classic pop hooks, which has already secured 5 million streams as well as support from BBC Radio 1, Beats and Amazing Radio and Radio X. Firecracker frontman Jamie initially moved over from Perth Australia to pursue music and film acting but he’d long been harbouring a far more rock’n’roll-worthy dream. Secretly writing songs for the band he didn’t have, one day a fellow actress introduced him to a guitar player she knew, a guy called Jack. They finally got into the studio alongside Dave and drummer Johno, they teased out four chart-worthy synth-driven bangers almost immediately. A riot of colour and huge tunes, Balcony follow in the footsteps of Bastille, The 1975 and Years and Years with their artfully crafted, classic sounding but still totally fresh take on a full-band driven pop sound.
