Biography

Grammy award winning songwriter/producer Gennessee has remained in the shadows and under the radar. His story starts as a young hippie kid growing up backstage at The Grateful Dead shows, in the dressing room with The Pointer Sisters, or the hotel penthouse suites of the Go Go’s. After surviving in the streets of Brooklyn in the Golden Era of the early 90’s, he relocated to the Bay Area. In 1997 he teamed up with L*Roneous Da Versifier to form Double Life. Their first single “Revolutions” immediately hit the airwaves on Stretch and Bobbito and on The World Famous Wake Up Show with Tech and Sway. College radio stations across the country followed suit, and a worldwide tour followed. Gennessee has shared the stage with Wu Tang Clan, KRS-1, De La Soul, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Black Eyed Peas, Organized Konfusion and Souls Of Mischief to name a few. He has produced for Cam’Ron, B Real, Berner, The Jacka, Rod Wave, AZ, Paul Wall, Baby Bash, E-40, Too Short, Mac Dre, Frankie J, Chino XL, Clyde Carson, One Block Radius and many more. He has worked with The Smeezingtons (Bruno Mars), Fernando Garibay (Lady Gaga), Keith Harris (Black Eyed Peas), Cirkut (Dr. Luke), Tiesto, Skrillex, J.R. Rotem, Wolfgang Gartner, Wayne Rodriguez, Kerli, Tinashe, Eric Bellinger, and The Cataracs. Gennessee has brought it back the essence, recently dropping numerous underground Hip-hop, releases. With an amazing lineup on his label Noble House Records, the world is about to be blessed!
