Biography

Mystic Diversions is a high quality project of great musical depth, excellent compositions and skilful production. This is the result of the sensibility of Mario Puccioni aka Mari-One and Francesco Puccioni aka Francesko, also well-known for his successes under the stage-name of Mike Francis. Their albums started out as a world music project with Crossing The Liquid Mirror (2001) and became a fascinating journey into chill out, ambient, lounge and ethnic, with Beneath Another Sky (2002), Colours (2004), From The Distance (2006), Wave a Little Light (2007), Angel Soul (2010) and Renaissance (2016). All filtered through the taste of Francesko and Mari-One with the musicians and singers invited aboard: Aidan Zammit, Wendy Lewis, Pati Palma, Maya Fiennes, Bungaro, Pieraja, Giovanni Imparato, Natalio Luis Mangalavite, Marco Rinalduzzi, Vittorio Cosma, Michele Ascolese, Ingo Schwartz, and the famous Italian jazz man Stefano Di Battista. The refined melodies and the perfect meeting of different styles put their records at the top end of its genre, up there with the best selling compilations Cafè del Mar, Buddha Bar and Hotel Costes. In 2022, the prolific Chris Coco conceived a Mystic Diversions reimagination on the album selection, Miniatures Of You - including previously unreleased balearic remixes by Chris Coco of the titletrack and the hit Josephine feat. Mike Francis. On first hearing, word has got round that their records are gems.
