Instagram - @_constrict Brighton based Constrict has been honing his sound quietly for the last few years, slowly finding ways to mix elements from his favourite influences in electronic music to create something unique. A string of releases on respected labels such as Med School Music, Context Audio and Lifestyle Music launched his music into the awareness of drum & bass fans in 2018, the year which also saw him feature on Koherent’s debut EP on Dispatch recordings. 2019 saw support from industry stalwarts such as Noisia, High Contrast and Zero T, with his Paradise EP on Context Audio and self released single ‘No Channel for Sound / Dribble’ gaining favour throughout the scene. Constrict’s 2020 is off to a good start, having had 2 tracks released via the heads-favoured Inception Audio label in January. Launching his own label Incidental Sonics in March sent a shockwave of excitement through the scene, with the first release receiving media coverage and premieres from Mixmag, Drum&BassArena, Les Yeux Oranges and many more, going on further to release a seminal remix from Eusebeia for the label’s second outing. In April 2020, Constrict released a single - Refreshers / Notice to Thieves - on the legendary Diffrent Music’s Sweetbox sister label, earning a vinyl release and the attention of some of the biggest names in drum & bass alongside airplay on Rinse FM from J:Kenzo, Djinn and many more.
