Julius Dacasin is a Filipino-American artist that has been inspired by many different genres of music. As a child, Julius was immersed in the smooth ballads and classic rock that his father would play, complemented by the jovial karaoke jams that the family would sing along to. Over time, Julius discovered that the one genre he enjoyed the most was R&B. Beginning in elementary school, Julius practiced singing on a daily basis as a hobby and continued to do so until he eventually gathered up the courage to start singing in front of other people. Despite his clear penchant for musical artistry, Julius found that there wasn't a lot of people in his Bay Area hometown of West Pittsburg who could relate to him. Julius was determined to transcend this barrier by learning how to play the guitar, ukulele, and piano. Eventually, he joined a Tahitian drumming group. It was here that Julius refined his craft by meeting other musicians, having jam sessions, learning more about music theory, and even making beats on his PC. Julius' passion for music fueled him to go enroll in junior college where he majored in Recording Arts and built on the foundation of knowledge he had gained over the years. Now, Julius aims to utilize his talents as a singer-songwriter, producer, and sound engineer to chase his dreams of becoming a known artist while also serving as inspiration to those who, like himself, need to find the courage within themselves to pursue their artistic goals.
