Clem Leek is a British born musician and composer, hailing from Kent, U.K. Throughout his young life Clem studied the performing arts, choosing to eventually study composition at post graduate level. For the last 10 years he has produced music for general release, film and TV music and is a seasoned performer. Specialising in modern classical, ambient and soundscapes, Clem takes inspiration from his surroundings and the experiences that have guided his life. ‘Holly Lane’ (2010, Hibernate), his first full length release on Hibernate Recordings, draws on the mysterious nature of the English countryside and coastlines. Holly Lane was followed closely by ‘Lifenotes’ (2011, Drifting Falling) and ‘Rest’ (2013, Brian Records), both showcasing a more traditional side to Clem’s compositional style - lead by piano and guitar. These releases cemented Clem as a staple in the modern classical/experimental genre. Clem Now lives in Chicago, USA which has an profound influence on his work. After two further full length releases with Yen Recordings, a portfolio of diverse work and a myriad of collaborations, Clem continues to write and record his brand of very personalised music. Such collaborations include work with the group ‘Black Elk’, providing the piano for the popular album ‘Sparks’, working alongside Ian Hawgood, Danny Norbury and Tim Martin. Commercial library work has him featured on the libraries of Universal and Sony ATV and his music has been used worldwide.
