Neil Tòmas Smith is a composer from Edinburgh, Scotland. Creatively, he is somewhere in the North Sea: floating in between Germany and the UK. He uses the traditions of European modernism as a constant source of inspiration but in new, sometimes irreverent, constellations. He has worked with orchestras ensembles throughout Europe, including the LPO, RSNO and WDR Symphony Orchestra. 2020 saw the release of a solo EP, MIDI Times & Spaces, and a recording of his tour de force for clarinet, Strange Machines, performed by Jonathan Sage and released by Dark Inventions. His debut album, Stop Motion Music, appears in March 2023.
