Rasam's music draws from his deep understanding of the Persian classical music where he infuses traditional modes and microtonal nuances into his compositions. At the same time, Rasam has studied western music theory and composition, including harmony, counterpoint, and orchestration. This fusion has allowed him to create a rich tapestry of sound that blends the emotive, improvisational qualities of Persian music with the structural complexity of western classical traditions. Rasam was born in Tehran on May 11, 1989. An engineer by training with a PhD in materials science from Northeastern University (Boston, MA). He has studied Persian classical music repertoire "Radif" with Mohsen Keramati, music theory and composition with Amir Eslami, and Setar with Ehsan Emami and Behdad Babaei. In 2021, his composition "Quest" for symphonic orchestra was among selected works to be premiered by Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
