On a Friday night in '83, in Newark, New Jersey, was born Sam 'Blackgod' Young-Bey. Destiny to be a voice of and to the people, at age three, he was prophesied to become a minister. So his father had him read the bible one hour daily. 'Blackgod' ran from it, and at ten years of age, jumped off the porch in a full sprint, to the street life. Living out the '94 film "Fresh" (Sean Nelson, as 12-yr old drug dealer, Samuel L. Jackson plays his father), for over a decade in the streets, prison became his home. Not one for pity, 'Blackgod' says, the O.C. (Original Creator) did what was necessary. After years of self-reflection and self-discovery, he's ready. Now searching for purpose and meaning in life, he dove into theology. And yes, Sam 'Blackgod' Young-Bey is legally ordained a Minister, since April of 2016. Crazy right. Discovering, through the counseling of others, that he wasn't fully alive. During his theological studies he found himself spitting scripture, effortlessly. Rekindling once abandoned abilities. The Hip Hop bug bit him. 'Blackgod' went from Gospel and Contemporary Christian (ex. Hillsong) to his roots. Stylistically like Nas, Slick Rick, Andre 3000, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, and Meek Mill to name a few (storytellers). Delivering the origin and meaning of Hip Hop, the message, once again he has jumped off the porch. Ready.
