Named “one of our greatest treasures as a guitarist” by Najee and "amazingly talented" by Dave Koz, Blake Aaron returns with his fifth full length album "Color and Passion", on Innervision Records. Charging out of the gate with two #1 Billboard singles ("Fall for You" and "Groovers and Shakers") and one #1 single on the Radiowave / Groove Jazz charts for all of 2019 ("Drive"), Color and Passion is already feeling like a greatest hits record. A Billboard #1 producer himself, Aaron teams up with hit producers Darren Rahn ("Groovers and Shakers") and Adam Hawley (“Sunday Strut”). There’s no denying the diverse palette of Color on this album created by Aaron’s lifetime experience with a wide array of musical styles and the intense fire and emotion of Passion created through his soulful and expressive guitar playing and compositions. This is especially evident and deeply felt on songs such as the title track, a yearning, reflective and soul searching ballad that features Aaron on two guitar voices he doesn’t play often, nylon string and horn-like guitar synth. Add to this a very hip and funky original tribute to James Brown with “Godfather Brown,” a fiery Latin tune with “Riviera Nights,” a roots reggae jam with “Weekend in Paradise,” and the Soca radio single, “Daylight,” and you have vibrant Color and dynamic Passion and album that is firmly rooted in smooth and contemporary Jazz, but one that's not afraid to venture into all of the wonderful musical possibilities.
