Drawing from every corner of the soundworld, Eric Chasalow creates genre-defying music. As professor, and long time arts advocate, he works tirelessly to nurture developing composers to take part in a mutually supportive community with the greatest respect and ambition for the arts and for artists. As Irving Fine Professor of Music at Brandeis University he directs the Brandeis Electro-Acoustic Music Studio (BEAMS). Part of the last generation of composers to work at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, Chasalow has received awards from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Koussevitzky Music Foundation, an Aaron Copland Award, two awards from the Fromm Foundation at Harvard, and two awards from the American Academy of Arts & Letters. more at ericchasalow.com
