When my daughter was little I would call her my Princess, and she called me King Robby. I loved the name King Robby because it’s an ode to one of the inventors and pioneers of dub reggae, King Tubby. I became obsessed with reggae and dub music when I was young. Whatever job I worked, stocking the music store Rasputin in Berkeley California, waiter, ball boy at the driving range, almost all my paycheck went right back into the music store buying up all the reggae and dub records, hip hop and electronic music I could get my hands on. This love of music led to a degree in Electronic Music from UC Santa Cruz and a career as a producer and engineer. I’ve been blessed to work with so many great people. One love!
