Biography

Patricia Da Dalt (flute) Marcela Magin (viola) and Lucrecia Jancsa (harp) play each one in their respective instruments, a fundamental role in the Argentine musical scene, both in classical and contemporary repertoires, as members of chamber groups or as chief musicians of the most important local orchestras: the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Symphonic Orchestra. Luminar is an exceptional ensemble, not only for the particular distinction of its members, but also for its instrumental nature and radical openness to new challenges. Originated in a unique composition of the classic repertoire: the late and aristocratic Sonata for flute, viola and harp by Claude Debussy, the trio tends necessarily toward contemporary productions. Their present repertoire includes not only post-Debussy trios, such as the works of Sofia Gubaidulina and Toru Takemitsu, but also compositions specially written for Da Dalt, Magin and Jancsa by the finest Argentine composers, such as Julio Viera, Francisco Kröpfl, Luis Mucillo, among others. Some performers are predestined to leave deeper impression than others in the history of musical composition. Hard to find a more appropriate name than Luminar, it combines the enlightenment of a new repertoire with the beautiful crepuscular tone of French music. Federico Monjeau
