Nakesha Writes grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut until her parents decided to relocate to North Carolina. At a young age she was very engaged in music. Her love for lyrics inspired her to delve into poetry. Poetry would become her outlet and a way to communicate her inner feelings. In the beginning, she was scared to share her words. But she finally overcame her fear and transitioned into spoken word, where she would freely spill her emotions on open mic stages. Even though poetry was her outlet, music still held her heart, and she began to incorporate song lyrics into her work, while collaborating with other local artists. This produced her 1st two albums. Heartbeats Exposed and What Fairytale. On March 29, 2019 Nakesha lost her sister in a car accident. This literally ripped out her inner spirit. She didn't feel up to creating anymore. Knowing that this was something her sister would not approve of, almost a year later, she got back up to continue doing what she loved. This sparked the birth of her rap album 313, and her new release Featuring.
