Biography

Dylan Addington hails from a family with deep musical roots in Appalachia, with a family connection to the legendary Maybelle Addington Carter. Starting as a singer-songwriter with steel-string acoustics for nearly two decades, Dylan found a profound resonance and renewed love for music with the classical nylon string guitar, allowing him to express emotions that transcended vocals and complex productions. His music captures raw emotion, imperfection, and the abandonment of strict adherence to tempos, meters, and other constraints, guided solely by what he feels in the moment he captures a recording. In addition to his original compositions, Dylan’s arrangements of other artists’ works and cover songs are also a deeply emotive experience. He uses these compositions as a canvas to express how he feels and hears their music, transforming familiar pieces into personal, visceral performances. Each note reflects the emotion and raw humanity that defines Dylan’s unique artistic voice.
