Biography

Daniel Ariño is a classical pianist, composer and music educator. He graduated and obtained a master's degree in Classical and Contemporary Performance at ESMuC -Superior School of Music of Catalonia- with professor Xavier Barbeta, obtaining Distinction of Honor for both of his final projects. "Cosmogonies" is, indeed, a recording of his master's recital repertoire, which includes a prelude and sonata of his own. He has studied Karnatic Rythmical Techniques with Ph D. Rafael Reina at ESMuC for some years; the EP "Samarkhanda", an original theme and variations for violin -Ariadna R. Masafrets- and piano, is in fact born from those courses. On the other hand, he has always cultivated with care the genre of lied. Recently, he has been working closely with soprano Marta Estal -Duo Palau-, recording and performing unedited songs by valencian composers such as Manuel Palau or Matilde Salvador, and receiving distinctions such as the "Melómano de Oro" and a nomination to the "Carles Santos" Awards. As a composer, his most popular work up to date is still "El nus la flor", an original cycle for singing voice -Maria Mauri-, speaking voice -Enric Casasses- and piano, based on texts by Casasses himself. Receiving a warm welcome from general public and critics, "El nus la flor" has toured through Catalonia since then, occupying a prominent place in festivals such as "Barcelona Poesia” and being performed in concert halls such as Palau de la Música, among many others.
