Previously known as “Katie Doyle Quintet” & “kitty” before finally deciding to stick with kitti with an “i”, she eventually settled into her own sound and writing style, taking massive influence from great artists like Chaka Khan & Rufus, Aretha Franklin and Betty Davis. kitti gained 2 awards for her work in 2020 - that of “Best Female Breakthrough” at the Scottish Music Awards and “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the Scottish Jazz Awards, which she won once again in 2022. She has also supported the iconic Mavis Staples and Van Morrison in 2022 - and Rod Stewart at his Edinburgh Castle shows in 2023. kitti’s live shows and recent recordings ooze complete authenticity and individuality.
