Dems are David Gardener, Dan Moss and Duncan Mann, based in London and Copenhagen. 'Animate Skin Forget Everything' is Dems' second LP, coming a decade after our first album, 'Muscle Memory'. This collection of songs was recorded and produced between 2022 and 2024, initially in short period together between countries as David had moved to Montreal, Canada for many years, before coming closer to home in Copenhagen, Denmark more recently. We recorded over short periods in a makeshift East Sussex studio (/ renovated barn) to create the bulk of the body of work, and then built that in-person and in our studios. We loved making this record for ourselves, and developing an underlying atmosphere connecting a broad and playful scope of music. Tracks like 'I Let You', 'Inverleith' and 'Red Lines' are the kind of heavily club-influenced tracks we always wanted to write but never felt able to for some reason. 'Ten Feet' and Split It' are these song poems in a style that we always seem to be drawn to. And all of the songs are much more personal in the exposition of particular stories and events that we wanted to draw out. We hope you enjoy this record.
