Formed in 2018 with the release of their self-titled debut, Why Awake is an American Indie Pop trio originating from Central Arkansas. Following their initial release, they have released multiple singles including, "Break me Down" with Ryan Hanes & Mick Jenkins, "Breathing" , "Pitch" , and "Slider". Studying under greats, Alan Shacklock (Abbey Road) and Alan Parsons (Dark Side of the Moon & Allan Parsons Project), Why Awake brings a distinct Pop/HipHop and cinematic driven sound. In addition to in house recording, mixing, producing, and cinematography, they also composed the original score for the IMDb Audience Award of 2021, "Right to Try" produced by Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer.
