Born in coastal New England, Gatch has always felt most at home where the forest meets the sea. He was raised in a musical household, where he had early exposure to the wide world of music through his parents eclectic collection of tapes, CDs, records and concert films. Combined with access to the family piano, this upbringing has led to a career as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Inspired by acts like Allen Toussaint, Peter Gabriel, Bon Iver, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, R.E.M, Radiohead, Dave Matthews, Talking Heads, and many more, Gatch spends his days experimenting with combinations of many different eras and genres in pursuit of exciting genre-bending sounds. In middle school, Gatch began collaborating with his long term partner Aaron Lewis and they have continued to work together ever since. After a brief but eye opening time living in Montreal, Gatch moved to Boston where he was greeted with the great fortunate of meeting and befriending The Arcitype. Together they would go on to make many records together - including Life From Zhang’s, Party People, Italian Leather and their most recent release Double Check. In support of Double Check, Gatch pursued extensive touring along the east coast and across the country which brought his music to a broader audience and planted the seeds for many more songs.
