Angela Esmeralda is esteemed for her sincere vocals, imperfect approach, a sound pliant and unmistakable, enveloping and harsh. Imposing, suave and scratchy. Born in south Italy, blues, classic jazz lover and connoisseur, she has filled her songs with some dialect which defines not only a territory but a way of living and feeling, as a typical recipe is. Author and composer, she wrote two albums with Sebastiano Lillo between ‘14 and ‘16. Deltasoul takes them to Memphis(TN) to represent Italy for the International Blues Challenge '14. With The Drive Band disputes the European Blues Challenge finals in the Azores Islands in 2019, where the band receives acclaim and proposals to participate in French, Danish, Romanian festivals, but the band disbanded before time due to incompatibility of spirits. Traces of this remain on a record with a questionable mix and mastering: The Drive Band. Since 2017 she has collaborated with Gaetano Partipilo in his crossover jazz project Boom Collective, a collective that has welcomed new forms and faces to date. Boom Collective and Leave&Meet -released by Auand Records- are the albums for which Angela Esmeralda is voice, author and co-composer. At the end of 2019 Boom Collective rocked in Brazil at the Jazz Tempo Festival between Rio De Janeiro and São Paulo. Angela Esmeralda (her two names) is working on SANTOCEANO, her latest effort, a future masterpiece, the kind you won't forget.
