ILLUMINERTIA is the music releases & audio visual collaborations created by Eric Montross who has been a resident DJ for Ecstatic Dance events in the Bay Area, CA and in since 2019 Portland, OR. For two years, he performed at the monthly Zodiac events held at Guava in Emeryville, CA. The music itself is global bass music layered with soothing, hypnotic melodies. The project often features other well loved musicians from the festival world. Previous collaborations include Bubba Jones (Digable Planets), Earl Harvin (Air), Ashel Seasunz, Govinda, Saqi & Diamonde, Evan Fraser (Dirtwire), Measyn, Calin Matei, Emily Ra and many more. The album covers has also featured some notable painters and visual artists such as Liliwenn, Olivia Curry, and Raja Nandepu. ILLUMINERTIA has two distinct styles: one tribal and rooted in festival culture and healing sensibility, and another side that includes Hip-Hop overtones. We appreciate the dichotomy of Illuminertia, as they aim to bring together worlds that find ways to compliment each other.
