Biography

Having established himself in the late 2000s and hailing from the undebatable original home of Aussie Hip Hop, Melbourne, Braidz has been involved in the roots culture of the industry long enough to have seen it all. From flopping on battle cards during the golden era of Acapella battles alongside legends such as Justice, Thesaurus, and Illmaculate, all the way through to establishing a solid foundation & fanbase through his passion for live performance and songwriting. With almost two decades of experience in the studio & on the stage, Braidz has become cemented as one of the leaders at the forefront of his local underground scene, which in turn led to performing with some of Hip-Hop's greatest acts, both international & national. Alongside the likes of Madchild, Bliss N Eso, Horrorshow & More, captivating audiences with a mix of social commentary, deep interpersonal reflections & a free-form bar style lathered with entendre and wordplay. After a 6-year hiatus from releasing music while focusing on his event management and promotional venture, Lost City Productions, Braidz has made a triumphant return to the industry in 2024 with his sophomore album "Final Cut," the follow-up to 2018's "Uncut." and bookend to the "Cut" Trilogy With the anthemic hard-hitting first single "No Plan B" and a second single leaning more towards upbeat parodic hyper-pop rap vibes with "Freak" starting to make waves, strap in for a musical journey set for ages to come.
