Singer-songwriter Bê Ignacio was born and raised as the daughter of an Afro-Brazilian father and a German mother in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After studying acting at theatre school Celia Helena in Sao Paulo she moved to Germany and graduated from the Jazz Department of state music academy in Stuttgart. Since then she released 5 albums and performed countless shows and events all around the world. Be met the indigenous activist Vandria Borari in the year 2019 and together they travelled to her native country in the Brazilian Amazon. Impressed and inspired by this trip she wrote new songs and decided to produce them with Luiz Brasil, her close friend, mentor and one of Brazil’s best guitar player and arranger who worked as musical director with such artists like (Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Cássia Eller) in a classical Bossa Nova formation - and Luiz’ guitar and his arrangements for string quartet let Bes natural voice shine in a beautiful way! Differently from her former more pop-oriented albums most of the songs on the new album „Amazonia“ could make you think of classical recordings of Antônio Carlos Jobim or Elis Regina. Others have a more world-music or Reggae influenced acoustic mood. The title song „Amazonia“ will be released on November 4 Together with As Karuana, 15 indigenous women they sing "Amazonia is here - and everywhere" in Portuguese and „Nhengatu“ their native language, pointing out the worldwide connections and consequences of consumer behaviour and politics.
