Mr Progress Biography By Lisa Connors Mr Progress a.k.a Garfield Oniel Grant born April 6th, 1983 in the garden parish of Clarendon Jamaica. From the start, his life was destined for a steady and consistent path in the pursuit and achievement of progress! Mr Progress believed he could accomplish anything he set his mind to! From making his own toys as a child. His interest in music was sparked in church where he went with his grandparents. Realizing he had a talent to dance, sing and entertain! He took that talent and developed it when he moved to the city of Kingston. Living in the hustle and bustle of Kingston was quite different from the laid-back countryside and Mr Progress knew he had to work hard to achieve his dreams. While he excelled at sports such as track and field, football and cricket, he stick to his initial talent to dance and entertain. Mr Progress studied and became an electrician. Started his own mobile sound system travelling the parishes of Jamaica, he also did farming selling livestock! 2012 Mr Progress immigrated to Calgary, Alberta Canada. He established himself as a key member of the Reggae/dancehall community. Mr Progress has worked tirelessly on many projects including Progressive Youths Entertainment Inc,touring with comedians Gyal Ediot & Fancy Cat,stage shows in Canada and the U.S. He recorded numerous tracks including “Progress” which has become a community anthem he is now registered and recognized deservingly as Mr Progress Music!
