Motives is the moniker of rising Washington, DC-based producer/DJ Ben Kane. Since breaking into the progressive scene in late 2020 with his Solace EP, his music has enjoyed support from some of dance music's biggest names, including EDX, Above & Beyond, Qrion, Gabriel & Dresden, Nora En Pure, and Solomun. His remix of Le Youth's 'Miraje (Motives Remix) charted in the Top 10 trance releases on Beatport, was featured on Above & Beyond's Group Therapy broadcast, and earned him a guest mix on Anjunabeats Worldwide (#734), while the standout Gone was featured on multiple "Best of 2022" lists and now lives among Colorize: Classics. Meanwhile, he has shared lineups with an eclectic mix of some of dance music’s finest, Including Eric Prydz, Yotto, Spencer Brown, Sultan + Shepard, and Bedouin. A lifelong musician and electronic music fan, Motives draws deep inspiration from all corners of house, techno and beyond.
