Caterina Barontini, pianist, composer and teacher, gives concerts as a soloist, in duo with her father Ilio Barontini and in various ensembles. After completing her Bachelor's Degree in Piano in 2013 with the guidance of her father, she got a Master's Degree in Piano in 2015 with full marks, honours and mention with Maestro Daniel Rivera at "Pietro Mascagni" Superior Institute of Musical Studies in Livorno (Tuscany, Italy). Active as a composer since 2019, her works include Azzurro come il cielo (Azure as the Sky), Fonti di poesia (Sources of Poetry), From a Secret Diary, Mari immaginari (Imaginary Seas), Tra quattro mura. In 2018, she recorded Best Classical Piano Solo, a 100-track library to take the listener on a journey from the 18th Century to Contemporary Piano. Beforehand, she had recorded The Heart Sonatas in the Italian 18th Century. Recently, she has recorded four albums for piano four hands from Mozart to Satie, in duo with her father. In 2017-2018, she recorded her father's works for two pianos (Back to Beat, recorded live at Teatro Goldoni, Livorno) and for piano four hands (Bartókiana; Cinque Filastrocche; Little Suite & Gershwiniana). Her active compositional projects aim to explore a deep relationship between poetry and music, as testified by her work at setting to music 12 Canti taken from Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, periodically released starting from the 15th of September 2023.
