Biography

A singer at heart, a lyricist at brain, and equally enamoured by modern prog-rock and 80s synthpop, Eth Eonel's output provides genre defying arrangements alongside interesting stories that run deep. It has been called eclectic, brave, insistent, quirky and weird. Kenneth Holter (b. 1979), was raised in a musical family, and started writing his own songs at age 4. Since then, his creative output has been tremendous, both solo, in family band Tutti Frutti (1983-1987), in his elementary school alt-rock band Önkel Renate (1991-1992) and the band Magic Music (1994-2000). But it wasn't until joining, naming and fronting the band Aloysius (2003-2007), that he adopted the moniker Eth Eonel and started his home recording studio and label, later to be known as Eonel Sound. His first solo album Drawing Lines (1989), came out in 2011. Collecting songs he had written at age 10, they were synth heavy and tinged with an 80s vibe. The follow-up from 2016, Another Failure (1989), was both more guitar-oriented, more focused and even more deeply personal lyric wise. Third album, from 2023, See Through Mirrors (2003-2004) again highlights the eclectic style, with an updated production. Fourth album, released August 2023, is called The Indescribable L (2012). It features a real drummer, is otherwise recorded and mixed in Eth Eonel's studio, and is a collection of love songs written to his wife. In terms of musical direction, it has been described as Nik Kershaw meets Dream Theater.
