Somaya Reece, aka "La Jefa", is a fearless, trendsetter, and rule breaker, celebrated for her Salvadorean, Afro-Latina roots, Philanthropy, uplifting her Queer community, and women's advocacy. Hailing from South Central Los Angeles, Somaya’s journey began in a tin garage, raised by indigenous immigrant family from El Salvador and African. Inspired by the legendary Celia Cruz at just seven years old, she quickly developed her passion for music, mastering the violin and earning honors as the lead violinist in school. Recognized by XXL as a "Female Emcee You Need To Know," Somaya’s energy and bilingual flow have earned comparisons to a female Pitbull. She was personally invited by Pitbull himself to tour Calle Ocho in Miami and Latin America. Her hit single “Descontrol” featuring Lapiz Conciente premiered on MTV3, while tracks like "Party with The World" and "Fuego" became soundtracks for The Bad Girls Club franchise. Now releasing music under her own label, La Rosa Entertainment Inc., Somaya continues to dominate the stage while marking her presence and name globally. Her latest project, “Get It Girl,” produced by KT KABOOM and featuring Jersey Club pioneer DJ Tameil, is a high-energy female anthem. Somaya Reece is not just a musician but a powerful force that pushes boundaries while uplifting her community. With each release, she continues to inspire, empower, and remind her audience that anything is possible!
