Since his first recorded verse at the age of 14, Namek, born Joseph Huicochea in West Covina, CA has continued to show an undeniable passion for the art of rhymes, hip hop and G funk. Influenced by west coast vets such as DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Funkdoobiest & Cypress Hill, while also musically inspired by east coast OG's like Redman & Big Pun, versatility on the mic has naturally grown to become a powerful attribute for him. From paying dues in cyphers all around the San Gabriel Valley and LA County in his teens and early 20's, to performing in more established venues, winning numerous rap competitions (Undefeated 3x Power 106 Freestyle Friday champ & Flow and Tell SBRC 4x champ) & collaborating with certain musical influences such as DJ Battlecat, KXNG Crooked (Crooked I), Kokane, Ras Kass, Roscoe (DPG), Abstract Rude (Rhymesayers Ent.) and Percee P (Stones Throw) the evolution of Namek has strongly shown. Now in 2022, Namek links up with manager Hengee Garcia as a new artist on ICE-T's Final Level Music with a new single titled "Priceless", produced by DJ Battlecat & featuring Nhale (Baby Nate Dogg). This is the first single off Namek and DJ Battlecat's "3x3 Project", which is scheduled to drop later this summer thru WCK Records/GT Digital/Final Level Music.
