KID AXE is a genre bending artist out of the Philadelphia area. Originally from the small country of Liberia, he discovered his love for music after moving to the United States and discovering the likes of Lil Wayne, Future, All American Rejects, and later gravitating towards Lil Uzi Vert and what most describe as the SoundCloud generation of artists. He spent most of his childhood playing sports, going to church with his mother and even started learning how to play instruments such as the trumpet and flute. He would eventually join the choir because he began to love music so much. As he grew older he dropped the instruments and continued singing. After graduating high school, he decided he wanted to continue playing soccer and would go on to get a college education, something he says he was blessed to do coming from where he is from. Given the opportunity, he was willing to do what it takes to better his family's financial situation. Axe started releasing music at the age of 19 after finally finding the courage to get in the studio and record in 2019 with another artist he met at college. It wasn’t until the following year he decided to take music seriously. He feels that growing up with social anxiety held some of his potential back but he’s finally ready to release it. He is a big fan of being yourself. “I’ve never had much so I grind hard for everything I want, I feel like being myself and controlling my own image helps me do that,” says Axe.
