Praised by Opera News for her “gleaming tone,” soprano Bethany Worrell has performed in Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Salzburg. This season she looks forward to performing with Christman Opera Company and Camerata Piccola (New Camerata Opera’s outreach ensemble) in Manhattan, in addition to performing recitals with Music Street on Martha’s Vineyard and in the Virgin Islands. Operatically, Bethany has performed as the High Priestess (Aida) with Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos) with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Clorinda (La Cenerentola) with the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) in Faneuil Hall, Masha (Four Sisters) with Boston Opera Collaborative, Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) with Opera del West, Micaëla (Carmen) with Longwood Opera, the Dew Fairy (Hansel and Gretel) with MetroWest Opera, Despina (Cosi fan tutte) with NEMPAC, and Pamina (The Magic Flute) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with New England Conservatory Opera. She frequently appears as a recitalist and soloist, performing with the Metropolitan Chorale, Heritage Chorale, Atlantic Symphony, and the Boston Art Song Society. She has been a featured recitalist for the Freeport Memorial Library Concert Series on Long Island, West Tisbury Library on Martha’s Vineyard, Brookline Library Music Association Concert Series and Beethoven Society of Melrose Concert Series. Bethany is a native of Macomb, Illinois and is currently based in New York, NY.
