Glass Candles is a pop/folk/cinematic music group with deep heart and inspiration featuring artist Alistair Cowan. Alistair blends his intimate songwriting style with emotional, cinematic orchestration in creating tracks that take the listener on a journey through all the feels. Alistair was the former front-man with Almo Sounds signed with Redwood. He subsequently became a solo artist, composing tracks that have been aired worldwide in various ad campaigns, commercials, radio and tv series. He now co-writes with Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hotel Rwanda, Bee Movie, Over The Hedge), James Roberson (Winter’s Tale, The Lone Ranger, Veep), and Tony Clarke (Fast And Furious 6, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan). His recent credits include tracks on Adam Sandler films Blended, Grown Ups 2, and he also composed the score to TeenyTiny Films’ award winning documentary, Karl’s Lambing. Using beats, loops, and chopped-up sounds, with subject matter drawn from personal experiences, Alistair’s music doesn’t fit the traditional torn, melancholic and introspective tag that is so easily awarded to solo songwriters. These are powerfully intimate songs that reflect subjects such as marital violence, a road accident death, the longing to escape, being broke or just the experience of drinking wine all night and watching the sunrise.
