Biography

Born from the meeting of two singers and a recorder player, baroque ensemble Les Passagères was formed in Paris in 2015. Gamba, harpsichord and theorbo were soon invited to join the journey. In 2018, Les Passagères released their debut, Le Petit Tour, in reference to the Grand Tour that young European aristocrats performed during the Baroque period. It brings together their first two programmes: Voyage en Italie (Italian music, 2016) and Tourbillon (French music, 2017). They then travelled through England and France with On the road again (2018) and Toutes voiles dehors (2019). Les Passagères have been playing these programmes in France, particularly in the Occitanie region, and in England. Always wishing to share their music and to reach as many people as possible, they perform concerts, musical meetings around the repertoire or various workshops to discover baroque singing and instruments. This determination to mediate is a profound motivation for Les Passagères, who also perform in schools and hospitals. In the autumn of 2020, they recorded their upcoming album, Murmures: an exploration of German and Italian music of the early 18th century. Murmures is out 30th June 2021 via The state51 Conspiracy.
